Workers' Compensation

The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act is a state-regulated insurance program designed to help workers who are injured on the job or suffer occupationally related diseases. A workers’ compensation claim is different from a general personal injury claim. In order to recover on a workers’ compensation claim, the employee only needs to show that the injury was work-related.  The employee does not have to prove that the employer was negligent in any way. We represent victims with:

  • Back and Neck Injuries
  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Head and Brain Injuries
  • Broken Bones/Scars/Paralysis
  • Herniated and Ruptured Disk
  • Severe Burns
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Silicosis
  • And other serious injuries

In South Carolina "workers' comp" laws entitle people injured while on the job to enjoy certain rights to full payment of medical bills, compensation for lost wages, and awards for permanent disability. We deal with back, neck, head, brain, arm, leg foot, hand, and repetitive stress injuries, carpal tunnel, silicosis, scarring, emotional or mental and death claims.

Silicosis is an occupational disease caused by inhaling silica dust. It usually affects sandblasters, rock cutters and miners. A separate product liability claim may also be pursued by workers who suffer from silicosis or other lung injuries.
